The September meeting will be held Friday, September 9, at the Vice President’s home in Tulsa. Directions are below. As usual, please arrive at about 7PM. There will be a brief business meeting starting at 7:30. If you have business you would like us to consider, please contact one of the officers.
The business meeting ends with the canonical questions: Did you sell anything? Publish? Get paid? Submit? Get a good Rejection? Write? Have a GPIC-related item or other news? Bring anything to read?
After the business meeting, members will be invited to read from their recent works. In order that as many as possible have an opportunity to share their work, please try to keep your readings to thirty minutes or less. At a normal reading speed, this translates to roughly four thousand words. At most meetings, there is not time for everyone to read, so we try to give priority to those who have gone longest withtout reading.
Refreshments are ongoing during the proceedings. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the refreshments, but no one is required or to do so. The host, as usual, will provide water, ice, plates, flatware, plastic cups, and napkins.
Directions to 2856 S. 73rd East Avenue, Tulsa.
The VP’s home is located between 21st and 31st, and Memorial and Sheridan at: 2856 S. 73rd East Avenue. Turn east off Sheridan on 28th Street, and drive two very long blocks to the three-way stop at S. 74th E. Avenue. Turn right (south) and drive three short blocks to East 30th Street. Turn right, and you’ll see my house one block west, which is a two-story on the corner of 30th St. and S. 73rd E. Ave with white brick (first floor), grey paneling (second story), a black front door and white garage door. Not to worry, there’s a half-bath on the first floor for the stair-challenged. Alternate route: Driving west on 31st Street just beyond Memorial and the I-44 overpass, turn right (north) on S. 77th E. Ave. and drive two short blocks to E. 30th Street. Turn left and drive one long block west to S. 74th E. Ave., where you’ll see the house one block ahead (see above). There’s room for three cars in the driveway, or there’s street parking on S. 73rd East Ave (I don’t recommend you park on E. 30th Street, which has more traffic). See everyone at 7:00!
